Elder/Vulnerable Adult Abuse Newsfeed
The Elder/Vulnerable Adult Abuse Newsfeed is a by-subscription
service that sends an email to you each weekday listing
and annotating U.S. mass media articles and broadcasts
on elder/vulnerable adult abuse topics. Currently, an
average of 57 annotated listings are sent out each week.
Articles cover cases of abuse, neglect, or exploitation,
both in private homes and in residential settings; new
or newly-noticed services for, or community efforts on
behalf of, survivors of abuse; findings of relevant research
that is showing up in the general media; announcements
of new and pending legislation affecting adult abuse
survivors or programs; and enforcement actions -- including
criminal prosecutions -- against abusive institutions
and individuals.
A free database of these articles is maintained at www.WordBridges.net/elderabuse/media.
However, subscribing to the newsfeed means you can easily
see what is happening across the country nearly as it
happens (updates of the free database may take days or
weeks), making it easier for you to see the original
article before it gets removed from a publication’s
website or moved into its paid archives.
A one-year subscription to the Elder/Vulnerable Adult
Abuse Newsfeed costs $80 for non-ASAAPS members, $40
for ASAAPS members.
